Teaching People Teaching Dog Clicker Training Seminar
Sunday ~ 02 February 2003
Kay is a very experienced and postgraduate qualified lecturer
teaching adult learners in a variety of subjects, including teaching!
No matter what the subject there are proven formulas for working with a mixed group of learners with different learning styles, each bringing their own learning experiences to the lessons.
This morning seminar will look at meeting the individual needs of your learners and moving away from the "Instructor" paradigm to the "Teacher" paradigm. Setting achievable goals through teaching the learning skills for life rather than the usual established recipe of "this is how you get a dog to sit".
When we free-shape dogs to new behaviors they dictate their pace, own their own learning, have better memory retention and become active participants in all training sessions. People can be taught the same way. This type of teaching enables people to become self-directed learners and continue their learning from all dogs for the rest of their lives.
8:30 AM check-in for 9 AM start (with mid morning break).
Finishing about 12:00 PM for open question time.
Early registration (before December 15th): $50, $60 after December 15th.
